The Bible Tells us…

“When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.

Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good.

But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”

(Romans 5:6-8 NLT)

Salvation is God’s free gift to us, but we must accept it.

We can never make up for our sin by doing good works or fixing up our self.  Sin is to fall short of God’s standard, which is perfect, and to cross the line.  We have all done that and more.  It is only by trusting Jesus Christ as God, we can have forgiveness of the penalty of sin.  When we turn from our life of selfishness, and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved.

People were created to exist forever.  We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through Christ’s forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell and eternal unity with God is heaven.
